Do you want to write? Do you like writing? Then yes, why not?
If you’re starting a blog because you like to write, then there’s no issue with starting your own blog, the answer to that question is yes. However, if you’re thinking of starting your own blog to make a lot of money, then you’re more than likely going to be disheartened when you earn pretty much nothing from it.
Everybody has a blog these days, and it’s very, very hard to get people to check out your blog. Firstly, you need to learn as much as possible about SEO and grow your followers on social media, with people who actually care about what you’re saying, not just other bloggers (that one is important.)
Do people really care about what you’re going to write about?
Maybe they do, but are they going to find it? If you don’t pay for advertising, you don’t put serious effort into SEO and you have a small social media following, then it’s very unlikely people are going to find it, and therefore, advertisers won’t want to spend money using your blog to promote their products or services.
Can I make money from my blog?
Sure, companies pay bloggers all the time to promote their stuff, but are they going to pay you? You need a high amount of average readers, but good quality readers that reflect the target market of that company.
It may be disheartening to hear, but it’s just us being honest. By all means start a blog, just don’t get your hopes up. Create good content, work extremely hard on promoting it, have the most-optimised blog that you can possible make so people can find it on Google and hopefully, one day you’ll earn a decent bit of money.
It’s good to note that a blog can tie in very well with some other form on media like Twitch streaming, a YouTube channel or posting videos on Facebook/Instagram.
